The much anticipated court hearing for the case of Zothansanga took place today where the court issued arrest warrant for the accused, Zodinliana Sailo and Lalhruaitluanga. After years of loud demand for justice not only from the victim's family but from the majority of the Mizo community, court proceedings seem to show developments in favour of alleged victim, Zothansanga.

The order states as follows, "this court further opined to cause arrest of the accused Mr. Zodinliana Sailo u/s 120B (1)/294/367 IPC and section 377 r/w 511 IPC and u/s 120B (1)/294/367 IPC against the accused Mr. R. Lalhruaitluanga and to remand them into judicial custody by virtue of section 439 (2) r/w Chapter VI B of CL PL." The court further stated that since it fails to find any sufficient grounds, the court has hesitated to intrude and thereby held that bail already granted in favour of both accused in a bailable sections of law remains intact.

Meanwhile, one of the accused Lalhruaitluanga is suffering from Covid19 and the court order stated that his arrest is subjected to his Covid-19 conditions.
