As part of their ongoing campaign against smuggling activities in the state, Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles seized a .22 rifle along with live rounds in Chhungte, Champhai district in Mizoram. Two individuals, linked to the apprehended weapons, have been arrested.
Over the years, the Assam Rifles have been working consistently to tackle the drug trade and smuggling activities in the Indo-Myanmar border. According to reports, the Assam Rifles acted on specific information from trusted source regarding the recent arrest.
