C. Lalrosanga, Lok Sabha MP met Sanjeeva Kumar the Union Home Secretary, Border Management and Piyush Goyal, Additional Home Secretary (North East) in New Delhi. In the meeting the MP seeks advise and help from the Central government in the matter of the refugees from Myanmar who are provided shelter in Mizoram.

On account of the violent gunfight between the military forces and the National Unity Government (NUG) last week in a village in Myanmar close to Mizoram, there has been a new wave of refugees entering Mizoram. This raises new concern for the state government and the Mizo villages close to the Indo- Myanmar border. The Lok Sabha MP C. Lalrosanga had already met External Affairs minister S. Jaishankar in Parliament House earlier this year where he voiced  “serious concerns over the shelter and well-being of refugees” coming into Mizoram following the political turmoil in Myanmar.

In the meeting today, the MP made a request to the Centre to provide financial and medical help for the refugess from Myanmar who are currently settling in Mizoram.
