Two Mizo girls have created another historic mark in Mizo sports history. Lalremsiami Zote, a resident of Kolasib and Marina Lalramnghaki from Kawnpui have been selected in the national team to play for Women's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup at Potchefstroom, South Africa. The Women's Hockey Junior World Cup is set to commence on 5 December, 2021 till 16, December. 

India's national team will play under the captainship of the Mizo Olympian, Lalremsiami Zote who has set her mark in the national team during her Oympic journey. Marina Lalramnghaki is another Mizo girl in the 18 member World Cup squad and she will join Siami in the World Cup playground. Marina is a B.A 1st Semester student currently studying in Govt. Aizawl College. She is a resident of Kawnpui, a town from the same district as Siami. 

The World Cup will witness 16 top teams from across the globe battling for the title which was previously won by Argentina in 2016. While the 21-year-old Lalremsiami will captain the squad, defender Ishika Chaudhary will shoulder the responsibility of vice-captaincy.
