In a small program broadcasted Live on local channels, Jeje Lalpekhlua, fondly dubbed as the Mizo sniper, announced his retirement from professional football.
Jeje Fanai comes from humble beginnings, growing up in Hnahthial, a small town in Mizoram. From Hnahthial's local Model Sporting Club to donning the captain armband for India's National Football Team, Jeje's career has been nothing but illustrious, earned through hard work, determination and dedication.
In 2012, during his tenure in Pune FC, Jeje unfortunately sustained a knee injury in a match against Air India which never healed properly. In a recent podcast, Jeje recounts how his professional journey has been affected by this injury. In spite of such setback, Jeje would go on to carve his name in Indian football history.
