India's women hockey team has made it to the semi final with an unbeaten run after defeating two time champions South Korea with a 3-0 score in the FIH Junior World Cup.

With three Mizo girls in the team, India's women team still maintains a clean sheet, topping the pool stage with an unbeaten record. Goals from Mumtaz Khan (11th minute), Lalrindiki (15th) and Sangita Kumari (41st) and the spectacular team spirit of the girls took the team to the semi finals which will be played on Sunday.

Lalrindiki, who scored India's crucial second goal for the win, has consistently delivered outstanding performances since the start of the tournament, having scored a total of 4 goals throughout the 4 matches that India has played. The three Olympians- Tete, Devi and Lalremsiami proved to be the team's lead players who guide the team with their experience having played at the highest level in the Tokyo Olympics.

"I have played with the senior women’s team for some time now. I know what my role is in the team and I always want to help my teammates,” said Lalremsiami, who was adjudged the FIH Young Player of the Year in 2019.
