Govt. Zirtiri Residential Science College, Aizawl has been accredited with Grade A by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The institution is currently affiliated to Mizoram University and offers 10 UG course, besides 1 certificate course as a value-added course.
The NAAC peer team visited the college on 22-23 March, 2022 where they conducted detailed inspection on the institution in terms of infrastructure, administration, community service, research, placement and other aspects. The college was then accredited with Grade A with a CGPA of 3.09.
Zirtiri Residential Science College was started by Pi Lalziki in 1980 and was initially recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) & Section 12 B in 1998. In its initial stage, the College functioned as a Women's College till 1985 after which it came to be further upgraded to a Co-ed Science College in 2000. Among the 10 UG courses in the college, Home Science, Biochemistry and Electronics are courses available in Govt. Zirtiri Residential Science College which are not offered anywhere else in the State. It is also the first college in Mizoram to start BCA programme.
The College was accredited with a B Grade (CGPA 2.22) by NAAC in the first accreditation cycle in 2009 and is now among the few Grade A Accredited institutions in Mizoram.
