C. Lalawmpuia, a cyclist from Dawrpui Aizawl has taken up the thrilling challenge of covering 1500kms from Aizawl to Kolkata on his bicycle. The Mizo cyclist left Aizawl at 5:30 PM on 26th January, 2022 and is currently on his way to Kolkata.
C. Lalawmpuia is a successful businessman owning the popular Aizawl Watch House in the heart of Aizawl city. In 2016, he started to turn his focus to the sports of cycling and since then, he has been exploring different parts of Mizoram on his bicycle. In October 2018, he reached the famous Phawngpui Tlang (Blue Mountain) with his bike, covering 500 kms from Aizawl. This solo ride to Kolkata is his first ride outside Mizoram. After making one- day stops in Silchar and Shillong, he reached Guwahati on February 2 and continued his journey towards Kolkata.
Lalawmpuia is determined to promote adventure sports in Mizoram and he has taken up this solo ride to challenge and motivate the youths to take on big challenges and promote a healthy spirit of adventure.
