Three Mizo girls have been selected in the Indian Hockey Jr Team squad to play in the FIH Junior Women’s World Cup 2021. Hockey India announced the much anticipated team squad for Jr Women’s hockey team yesterday. Among the selected 20 players, Maria Lalramnghaki (Defender), Lalremsiami Zote (Midfielder) and Lalrindiki (Forward) from Mizoram have been selected. 

  According to plans, the World Cup 2021 was initially planned to take place last year and was postponed due to Covid threat in South Africa . The tournament is scheduled to start from 1st April at Potchefstroom, South Africa. The Indian team are grouped in Pool D along with Germany, Malaysia and Wales. The team Captain and Vice Captain are Salima Tete and Ishika Chaudhary. 

India will be playing with Wales as their first match on 2nd April. The Quarter Finals will be held on 8 April 2022 whereas the Semi-Finals is scheduled for 10 April 2022 and the Finals on 12 April 2022.
