Mizoram has extended the current SOP for Covid19 to be followed till further notice. After the state saw a rapid rise in the number of positive cases in the beginning of January, the government released a new SOP Guidelines with restrictions on schools and higher educational institutions, night church services, congregational singing, sports activities and others.
As the numbers continued to show gradual increase, the state government has extended the previous guidelines to be observed within the state. According to reports, Health Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana has mentioned that the state will not impose a state- wide lockdown inspite of the number of cases. Currently, Mizoram has 12559 active cases and 608 Covid deaths.
