As the state government's restrictions on public life tightens with the increase in Covid cases, violation of rules laid down in the SOP comes with high prices.

A church community in Khawkawn, a village in Saitual District, Mizoram has been fined an amount of Rs. 5,000 for violating the SOP and failing to observe Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) in December 2021. According to the order issued by Saitual District Magistrate on 9th February, 2022, the church community has been reported to have violated the "no congregational singing in chuch services" during last year's Christmas season. The chuch members were also reported to have participated in a community feast thereby violating the Mizoram (Containment and Prevention of the spread of Covid-19) Act 2020 Section 4(4).
